four recordings of Knarston Creek

Recorded these four soundscapes during a walk on the Copley Ridge and Knarston Creek Loop trail in the hills above Lantzville on December 6, 2021. Each location has subtle differences, from the brightness of the Jesse’s Junction recording or the layered sounds of the Waterfall recording.

1. Knarston Creek below the waterfall

2. Knarston Creek above the waterfall, about 12 feet from creek

3. Knarston Creek above the waterfall, near the creek

4. Knarston Creek at Jessie’s Junction

The Copley Ridge area is a charming, well-loved community forest with trails that wind along and crisscross the creek. There have been efforts to see this wilderness area protected, as it’s an active woodlot (and was apparently the first woodlot in the province) with recent logging in the area. It would be nice to see this area protected.
